I really enjoyed this tour! Skipping the long lines was such a relief, as I don’t like waiting. Our guide, Marcello, made the tour enjoyable. He shared stories about how the tower began to lean and how it survived earthquakes. Climbing the tower itself was exciting, and the view of Pisa from the top was incredible. Walking around Miracle Square was also great, and the Cathedral was so grand up close. I would definitely recommend this tour if you’re in Pisa!
This was my husband’s and my first time in Italy. We were coming back from a half-day shore excursion and wanted to stop at Pisa. Since we’re both history buffs, we knew we wanted to go for a guided tour, and I’m so glad we chose this one. The guide explained the Leaning Tower’s history in a way that was easy to follow, and we learned a lot. Climbing the stairs was fun, and the top gave us the best views of Pisa. Also, having only about a dozen people in the group made it really comfortable and easy to ask questions. Highly recommended for first-time visitors!

They will explain the medieval architecture and stories behind each monument. You’ll learn how the square has stood for over 800 years and why it is called the “Square of Miracles”. The guide will point out and talk about the details, like the marble patterns on the Cathedral floors. They will also highlight the ancient frescoes in the Camposanto.
CLIMB THE LEANING TOWER
Next, you’ll enter the Leaning Tower of Pisa with skip-the-line access. The tower is 187 feet (57 meters) tall and began leaning during construction in the 12th century. That leaning started because of the soft ground under its foundation. Your guide will share the tower's interesting history. Including how the tower remains standing and how it survived four major earthquakes. They will also talk about experiments that Galileo conducted in the tower. Climbing the spiral staircase is an adventure in itself. You will feel the tilt with every step and notice the uneven stones worn by centuries of visitors. At the top, you’ll see seven historic bells and enjoy panoramic views of Pisa. You'll see the Arno River and the beautiful surrounding Tuscan countryside.
VISIT THE CATHEDRAL
After descending the tower, you will explore the Pisa Cathedral. It was built almost 1,000 years ago and is one of Europe’s largest medieval churches. The cathedral features eight tiers of arches, massive Romanesque columns, and detailed mosaics. Your guide will talk about its construction and the unique features that make it special. You can admire the pulpit, the bronze doors, and the painted ceilings. With this, your Leaning Tower of Pisa tour will come to an end. Seven bells of the Leaning Tower
At the top of the Leaning Tower, you’ll find seven historic bells. They are called Assunta, Crucifix, San Ranieri, Dal Pozzo, Pasquereccia, Terza, and Vespruccio. Each bell has its own musical note. When rung, they produce a rich mix of tones that can be heard across Miracle Square. The most famous is San Ranieri. It was once called the Justice Bell and rang to announce death sentences. The oldest bell, Pasquereccia, dates back to 1262. The heaviest, Assunta, weighs 2.5 tons. Today, all the bells still ring using an electronic system to protect the tower’s stability. Their sound continues to connect the city to centuries of history and tradition.
